Man with Van Bayswater Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Bayswater to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to conduct business ethically and transparently, and we are committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in all its forms.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Bayswater provides transport, removals, and associated services to domestic and commercial customers. Our activities rely on a combination of employed staff, casual workers, vehicle providers, and a range of suppliers including fuel providers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and facilities and maintenance contractors.
We acknowledge that the logistics and transport sectors can be exposed to risks of exploitation, particularly in relation to temporary labour, subcontracted services, and overseas sourcing of materials. We are committed to identifying and reducing these risks through robust policies, clear expectations, and ongoing due diligence.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We have a clear, zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and child labour. This applies to every aspect of our own operations and to all relationships with third parties who provide goods or services to us.
We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where concerns arise, we will investigate promptly and, where necessary, terminate relationships or take other appropriate action.
Policies and Responsibilities
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is reflected in our internal policies, which cover ethical conduct, recruitment, working conditions, and health and safety. We require that all managers and supervisors remain vigilant to the indicators of exploitation and act swiftly if concerns are raised.
Senior management holds overall responsibility for implementing and reviewing our modern slavery approach. They are supported by operational leads who ensure that relevant procedures are followed when engaging workers and suppliers.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all our suppliers and subcontractors to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves. When entering into or renewing contracts, we assess suppliers on their ability and willingness to comply with applicable labour laws and to take steps to prevent modern slavery.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we conduct supplier audits or request confirmation of relevant policies and procedures. These audits may include checks on recruitment practices, worker documentation, wage and working time records, and conditions in which workers operate. If any supplier is found to be in breach of our expectations, we will work with them to rectify issues or, if necessary, end the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all staff, workers, suppliers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices within our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised with line managers or with senior management, and can be made in confidence where requested.
We will treat all reports seriously and investigate them promptly and fairly. No individual will suffer any detrimental treatment for reporting a genuine concern about modern slavery, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. We are committed to ensuring that anyone who raises a concern is protected and supported.
Training and Awareness
We aim to ensure that relevant staff understand the risks of modern slavery and how to identify and respond to potential problems. This may include providing guidance on signs of exploitation, appropriate recruitment practices, and how to escalate concerns.
We will keep our training and awareness activities under review, particularly for those employees who are involved in procurement, supplier management, or recruitment, where the risks are higher.
Monitoring and Annual Review
We are committed to continually improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. We review this Modern Slavery Statement and our related practices at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in law, guidance, or the nature of our operations.
As part of each annual review, we will consider feedback from workers and suppliers, any issues raised through our reporting channels, and the findings of any audits or investigations. We will use these insights to strengthen our controls, update policies, and refine training to ensure our response remains effective and proportionate.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Bayswater and represents our ongoing commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
